DEMTA sponsors several recitals each year. These events are great opportunities to play for an audience. It is cool to hear what students from other studios are playing. This year's dates are October 3rd (Sat.) 2:30 with a theme of "America", October 31st Halloween and minor key pieces, (Sat,)2:30. November 21st ensemble concert 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00 at Baker's Piano Store located at County Line and University. There is a $5.00 per family fee. I hope many of you will take this opportunity to play on a concert grand piano. If you are participating in National Federation in the spring date TBA, then this is a great time to play your pieces for an audience.Have fun, get creative.

Community Connection is a DEMTA sponsored program whereby students accumulate points for sharing their music with the community. Accumulate 10 points and receive a performance medal.Each recital or gig is worth 2 points. Festivals and Guild are worth 4 points each. Six of the points must be DEMTA sponsored.

Thanks to all Thanks to all who supported the fall and Winter gigs and recitals in 08 at Wells Fargo Bank, Chick-Fil-A, Parker Adventist Hospital and Tagawa Gardens. We earned $300.00 toward the DEMTA piano fund.

National Federation Festival TBA at South Suburban Church in Littleton. Registration and $20.00 fee is due February 10th. Each student must choose 1 piece from the National list & 1 choice piece. This is a small recital (about 10 students) format. Introduce yourself, the name of your piece and the composer and conclude with a performance bow. Those receiving a Superior rating go on to the State Festival, date TBA at South Suburban Church in Littleton. There will be one Top Performer and one Honorable Mention chosen from each group of 10 students. Registration deadline is April. 1st.

Studio Recital - Our studio recitals are held at the University Center at Chaparral. There is a $5.00 recital fee per student

The Wells Music - Yamaha Piano Competition will be held @ 685 S. Broadway in Denver. The Non-Competitive Division will be held on: TBA I recommend all who are entering the DEMTA Festival to participate in this event. Students may play both of their festival pieces for a panel of three judges. You will receive a written evaluation of your performance. This is a nice dress rehearsal for the festival!

DEMTA Spring Music Festival & Competition May 10th at Lamont School Of Music in Denver. Each student must memorize two contrasting pieces plus the scales and chords of each piece for an adjudicator. Student registration and $20.00 fee is due April 1st. Seventy-five of the top performers of the judges choice will perform in one of two honors concerts at UCC.

National Piano Guild is the biggest piano event in the world. Guild auditions provide milestones from year to year as measurements of progress. This years' event will be June TBA at the LDS Church on Bayou Gulch Rd. Registration and fees are due TBA. Each student may play 1 - 10 pieces plus the scales & chords from that piece for a Guild appointed judge. It is a wonderful way to build a quality repertoire. Each student will receive a beautiful certificate, report card, Guild pin and a years' membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians. I hope everyone takes advantage of this upbuilding event.
